Bridges

Foster youth face tremendous obstacles as they prepare for and enter the adult world. Many are released by the system on their 18th birthday unprepared and alone.

Bridges is a multi-faceted program designed to span the gap to academic and career success by providing critical resources, mentor connections and engaging community support. Through Bridges, we provide:

Mentors that serve as education and career advocates.
In-depth academic guidance & support which includes overcoming high school credit deficiencies, strategies for getting a high-school diploma or GED, and post-secondary/vocational planning. We hope to launch a tutoring program in 2007.
"Dare to Dream" Academic Scholarships
Connections to colleges offering supportive services for foster youth.
Assistance with transitional housing, most often on an emergency basis.
Connections to employment opportunities and job readiness skills.
TECHweek... a week long technology camp.
